Phuket

South East Asia

Phuket, Thailand’s largest island, is not only famous for its beaches, nightlife, and tropical beauty, but also for its outstanding golf courses. With lush jungle backdrops, coastal views, and resort-level service, golf in Phuket offers an unforgettable blend of sport and leisure.

The island features several top-tier courses that cater to all levels of golfers, each designed to take advantage of the region’s natural beauty.

Red Mountain Golf Club is often considered the crown jewel of Phuket’s golf scene. Built into a former tin mine, it features dramatic elevation changes, jungle-lined fairways, and panoramic views.

The course is both visually spectacular and technically demanding, with narrow landing areas and challenging greens. It’s regularly ranked among the best golf courses in Thailand—and even Asia.

Close by is Loch Palm Golf Club, a more forgiving and enjoyable layout, particularly for mid- to high-handicap players. Built around a large lake and surrounded by palm trees, it offers a relaxed, scenic round with gentle terrain and strategic bunkering. Many golfers choose to play both Loch Palm and Red Mountain as they share the same management and are located just minutes apart.

Another top choice is Blue Canyon Country Club, which boasts two courses: the Canyon Course and the Lakes Course. The Canyon Course is the more famous of the two, having hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic. With its tight fairways, water hazards, and bold design, it’s a stern test for skilled golfers. The Lakes Course offers wider fairways and gentler contours but still demands solid course management.

Laguna Golf Phuket, located within the luxurious Laguna resort complex in Bang Tao, is another popular option. It’s a well-maintained, resort-style course that’s ideal for tourists staying nearby. The course is known for its friendly service, playable design, and scenic water features.

Beyond the golf, Phuket offers everything a traveler could want—luxury resorts, Thai cuisine, vibrant markets, and beautiful beaches. After a morning round, golfers can unwind with a Thai massage, enjoy fresh seafood, or watch the sunset over the Andaman Sea.

With its combination of top-class golf, tropical setting, and five-star hospitality, Phuket is a dream destination for golfers looking to mix relaxation with challenging and memorable rounds.
